School is back is session

School has started back up again, and we are actually over half way through the first semester. It has flown by so fast. I'm living with three of my closest friends in an apartment a little off campus, and it has been so great. My favorite thing is just hanging out in the living room and talking with them at the end of the day. We always end up dying laughing, and it is so wonderful. We are all four so different, but it works out really well. They encourage me in so many ways, and they are all such blessings in my life in their own way.
My wonderful roomies
Theta is another huge blessing in my life. I'm constantly encouraged by my Theta sisters, and I am sooo thankful for them. As a sophomore, I got a little this year...but I lucked out and was able to get two littles! They are two of the sweetest girls I know, and I love them so much! I'm so excited to be able to go through college with them.
My littles!

One of my littles is actually waaay ahead of schedule and plans on applying to the Health Sciences Center next semester with me. It would be so fun to study Speech Pathology with her and a couple more of my friends hoping to go into the field. One of my very best friends is thinking about switching to Speech Pathology, which would also be so fun!
Football is another really fun part of going to school here. I was raised to be a big Sooner fan, and I love going to every game. One of my roommates is on pom, and my big and g-big are cheerleaders. It is fun to see them do what they love down on the sidelines, along with several more of my friends. Despite the football game this past Saturday, OU has done really well so far. We were #1 before the game, which is super exciting. I went to OU/tx this year with a bunch of Thetas, and it was such a blast. It was a crazy weekend with several unexpected bumps in the road, but overall, it was really fun-AND we won!!

Classes are hard, but that is to be expected. Since I haven't blogged in awhile, hopefully the pictures will somewhat make up for it. But it's time to work on some homework now. Love you all!

Gimme some summa

Wow-it's already July!!! That is so crazy. Where has summer gone? I'll be moving in to my new apartment with three of the most amazing girls in one month!

This summer has been so amazing so far. I had the amazing opportunity to be a leader at beach retreat with Michelle and Jonathan and their high school ministry at Second Baptist Church in Houston, TX. It was incredible to witness what amazing things they have done at that church. The high school ministry has grown so much, and God has been very faithful. It was so fun to see how much all the students love them and to be able to claim them as my family :) I had an incredible group of 7 girls who just finished their freshman year in high school. I learned so much from them, and it was such a fun week because of those girls. There was another leader in our group, Caitlin, who is the same age as me, and we had a blast together. I still talk with my girls a lot, and it has been so great to see them continue to seek after God even after camp has ended.

For the past week or so, I have been at Kanakuk. It is an amazing Christian camp organization. I am at K-2-which is one of the camps, and it has been a blast so far. It took a few days to get into the swing of things, but I love it. It is a great place to just go, get away from the outside world, and seek after God. There is an emphasis on sports, and the campers choose a specialty and get to work on enhancing their skills in that sport during the day. I am actually babysitting the women's director's daughter. She turns 13 next week, so I'm not really babysitting her-more like just hanging out with her. She is a mess and is pretty funny. We are pretty similar in the fact that we love to dance and swim, love the Lord, and have the same sarcastic sense of humor. I am on my time off right now, enjoying using my computer and phone. I'm enjoying Panera and their free wifi, that is enabling me to catch up on the Bachelorette and watch clips of So You Think You Can Dance :)
I'll be at kamp for a few more weeks, and I'm so excited for what all God has in store for me.

Be praying that God will continue to move in amazing ways at Kamp. He has done some incredible things already!!

Sophomore year, here I come!

I am officially a sophomore in college. Wow.
Let me say that again-I am officially a sophomore in college!
That is so crazy! I knew this would be a crazy year, full of new friends, hard classes, and crazy experiences, but I had no idea how incredible it would be. First semester was insane. I had no idea what to expect, and I was swept up in all the countless opportunities to get involved. I pledged Kappa Alpha Theta, and that was by far one of the most amazing experiences ever. I have been so incredibly blessed by all of my sisters. Through Theta, I have met some of the greatest girls ever, and I know I will be lifelong friends with a lot of them. Saying goodbye to several of them today was so hard. We are all doing such different things and will be separated for the summer, but I'm so excited to write letters with them while I'm away at camp. Luckily, a lot of my friends are working at Kanakuk, so at least some of us will be together.
I still can't believe that freshman year is already over. God has blessed me in so many ways, and I'm so excited for the next several years. It has definitely been a year of ups and downs-oh boy how true that is. I definitely didn't expect to have a lot of the things happen that did happen, but I don't regret it. (And just to clear things up, in case you're wondering what I mean by regrets-I did not get drunk or even drink a sip of alcohol, which I am very proud of)
Tomorrow morning, my brother is graduating from OU with a degree in HES-Health and Exercise Science. I am so proud of all that he's done! He has worked so hard this year, and I'm so excited for him.
Hopefully I'll update a little more this next week. :)

Time for School

Time for school-boo hoo :(
Well Christmas break is over, and it has been a whirlwind. As soon as school ended, Michelle, Jonathan, and Brayden came up for Christmas. It was so wonderful to have them and to see how much Brayden has changed in the last seven months. He's now running around and talking, well mumbling. Luckily Skype has made it seem like it hasn't been that long. While they were here, we experienced a CRAZY snow storm-totaling in over a foot of snow. Snow Angel Video--Jonathan, Paul, and I got a little stir crazy and went outside-very briefly in just shorts (and a shirt for me)! Unfortunately, they had to leave, but soon after, intercession class started, so it feels like my break flew by.

In all the craziness of this past week, I am just now finishing up this post. I officially made it through the first week back at school. I'm really excited about this semester. My class are a billion times better than last semester...hopefully, I will still like them in a month or so. If this past week has been a reflection of this semester at all, I'm really looking forward to it. I can tell that God is going to move in amazing ways,  and I'm so excited to see how He uses me.

Here are a couple pictures from the past two weeks-babysitting some of my favorite kids, OCS Homecoming,...

Julia

Julia's body was just found. Please please pray for her family and friends. It is so hard to believe that this really happened.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday night, a senior Theta from OU, Julia Gilbert, was going home from a friend's house. She was on the phone with her boyfriend and said she was about 10 minutes from her parents' house. This is the last time anyone heard from her. Please please pray for her and her family. No one has seen her car, and no one knows where she is. Pray that she will return safely and that she is okay. She drives a silver 2002 Jetta with the license plate 607 BJK

New Year, New Blog

Well it's a new year, so I've started a new blog...again. Third times a charm, right? I'm determined to make this one work.

I really don't know how to sum up my first semester of college. It was such a learning experience. I'm trying to put it all down on paper while it's fresh on my mind. One thing I'm disappointed about is that my journaling was pretty much nonexistent. I have so much to learn and remember for the past few months, and I'm frustrated I didn't spend time writing it all down. Hopefully I will be able to get a chunk of it down in the part of break that's left.

Today was the first day of intersession for me. 4.5 hours of class and about an hour of driving. This is definitely a result of the hard/learning time that made up my first semester. I'm taking a history class at OCCC. Today wasn't too bad, but we'll see how I feel after 10 days. I'm so thankful though that I got into the class, because it was totally full a few days ago.

God is really doing something in me. A painful relationship flared up again over this break, and it has really caused me to rely on Him. Unfortunately my stubborn girl-self wants to get answers and go do something, but I'm trying to totally trust in Him, no matter how hard things are right now. Elisabeth Elliot is someone I so admire, and I never grow tired of reading her books, granted I've only read a few...oh well :) I'm re-reading one, and it's so encouraging. Being a girl in today's society is so hard, especially if you have any desire to keep your morals, integrity, faith, friendships,... intact.

Time to get back to studying for history woot woot! Any study breaks are more than welcome :) Just come by!!
